SCRIPTURE TEXT: Revelation 1:7-8; Matthew 25:1-13
God’s timing is always perfect. Every purpose under heaven has its time (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and the Lord is not slow concerning His promises even if it might seem that way to some (2 Peter 3:9). Revelation 1:7-8 assures us that Jesus shall return for His “Bride” (that is, those who have placed their faith in Him). Plenty scoff at this, but even that was predicted (2 Peter 3:3-4). Jesus IS coming—but will we be ready? Jesus Himself taught on this topic in His parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13). This lesson on readiness for the return of the Lord could hardly be timelier or more important, for Jesus is “the One who is to come, the Almighty” (Rev 1:8).
