David's Sin (2 Sam 11-12)

SCRIPTURE TEXT: 2 Samuel 11:1-27; 12:1-31; 1 Chronicles 20:1-3

A pivotal moment in the life of King David (and indeed, in all of the Scriptures) plays out in this passage detailing David's sin. Though David tries to cover up his trespasses, the results of his actions have inevitable consequences. Yet David turns with a broken & contrite heart toward God in repentance, a model for all of us when faced with the results of our own wrongdoing, and in this the grace of God is shown ready & able to redeem.
