SCRIPTURE TEXT: Isaiah 40:3-5; Luke 2:1-7; Matthew 2:1-12; 7:13-14; John 14:27; Philippians 4:4-9

Continuing our weekly Advent focus on The Candles of Christmas, we come to the second candle on the Advent wreath, the Bethlehem Candle, representing PEACE. This candle reminds us of Mary & Joseph's journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem before Mary gave birth to Jesus. It also builds on the meaning of the Prophecy Candle, recalling that after the division, destruction, & dispersion of the kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament, there might finally be peace on Earth.
