This Is That

SCRIPTURE TEXTS: Acts 2:1-47; Joel 2:28-32

As we near Pentecost Sunday, our sermon series on The Book of Acts bring us to Acts chapter two and "the birthday of the Church" on that Pentecost day two thousand years ago when the Spirit fell as a tongue of flame over every believer gathered all together in one place & in one accord. As the Spirit gave them utterance, these proclaimed the wonders of God in the tongues of all the foreign peoples gathered in Jerusalem for the holiday observance (Acts 2:11). Amazed at such signs & wonders, the people were prepared for the proclamation of Peter that "This Is That" which the prophet Joel had predicted by & about the Spirit in Joel 2:28-32. Just as the Holy Spirit moved that day to see so many souls saved, today also we are called to proclaim the power of God to save by His Spirit. Church, it's Time for a 21st Century Pentecost!
