SCRIPTURE TEXTS: Acts 27:1-44; 2 Cor 11:25; 1 Tim:1:19

As the Apostle Paul's journey to Rome as a prisoner to stand trial before Caesar nears its end, severe storm at sea threatens that his life itself will end--as well as all those traveling with him. Yet Paul holds on to Faith Through the Storm, and charges all journeying with him to do the same, for God Himself has promised Paul a safe arrival to all who will hold on to faith. This experience seems to have informed Paul's metaphorical use of "shipwreck" as a way to describe faith gone astray versus faith founded firmly on the truth of Christ. We all face storms in life, sometimes literally, often figuratively--but they are always an opportunity to weather the storm through faith in God.
