The Lord's Will Be Done

SCRIPTURE TEXT: Acts 21:1-40

As the Apostle Paul pressed on to reach Jerusalem following the end of his third missionary journey in the Book of Acts, he received mounting prophetic signals that the road ahead would only grow increasingly challenging. But as others warned that imprisonment awaited him for his bold proclamation of faith, Paul declared, "Why are you weeping & breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the Name of the Lord Jesus" (Acts 21:13). Paul's close friends & colleagues cared very deeply for him personally, but also like him they were profoundly committed to this persuasion: "The Lord’s Will Be Done" (Acts 21:14). May it be that we all would live out such courage of conviction & commitment by faith to God's divine will, no matter the worldly cost, confident of the heavenly reward.
